Gordon Ramsay reveals he's often mistaken for son Oscar's grandad when out with family

Gordon Ramsay has revealed that he’s often mistaken for being his 19-month-old son Oscar’s grandfather when out with his family.

The celebrity chef, 54, explained how when walking with his eldest boy Jack, 20, and wife Tana, 46, people have been known to stop and make the comment.

However the star, who is known for his very colourful language, has now revealed his cheeky comeback when it happens in a new interview with Men’s Health UK.

Gordon said: ‘The worst thing is when I’m walking with Tana and Jack, and everyone is looking at Jack as if Oscar is his son.

‘[They say] “You must be so proud to be a grandad.” F**k off, he’s ours. If I get called ‘grandad’ one more f*****g time, I’m going to hit the roof.’

The chef and Tana are parents to Megan, 22, twins Holly and Jack, 20, Tilly, 18, and little Oscar, 19 months. They also lost a baby boy, Rocky, when Tana was five months pregnant in 2016.

Gordon also spoke about how his love for fitness is rubbing off on his family, who have been living at their £4m Cornish home during the UK’s second lockdown.

He said: ‘My son Jack did his first Ironman 70.3 last year. I got all the kids entrance into the London Marathon, raising money for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.

‘Tana is going to commit to her 10th marathon. I’ve got my 15th London coming up, two LAs and five ultras. It’s starting to rub off on them.’

However all this activity doesn’t come without risks, with Gordon saying he once was duped into believing in a ‘Rhinoceros Skin’ gel to help a delicate area after cycling.

‘I remember saying to Mark Cavendish, “F**k me, that piece between my ball bag and my arsehole! I’ve never got over how painful it is on the saddle.” He said, “You’ve got to get rhinoceros skin.”

‘So, there’s me thinking there’s a gel out there called Rhinoceros Skin,’ Gordon said.

And although loving to keep fit, Gordon also shared his dislike for ‘f*****g disgusting’ protein bars during the interview.

He said: ‘I’m very lucky that I can train and still eat pretty much what I want. How can a chef get into protein bars and say they taste delicious, when they taste f*****g disgusting?’

Continuing the food theme, Gordon added: ‘Trust the skinny chefs because the fat ones have eaten all of the good food.’

Staying fit: He also revealed that his active ways are rubbing off on the family, with Tana 'set to commit to her 10th marathon'

The doting dad shared footage of himself and Oscar as they headed out for some exercise together, with the chef’s little one pulling amusing faces.

The TV personality wrapped up warm as ran alongside a stunning Cornish coastline, with Oscar strapped safely to his back in a harness.

The toddler looked ecstatic to be outside as he giggled and put on an animated display while his Dad took him along for the ride.

Speaking to the camera, Gordon said, ‘Shall we run? Shall we? How’s that? How is that’, later exclaimed ‘Weeee’ as he spun around in circles while Oscar beamed.

Earlier in the day, Oscar was seen running around the house with a toy hoover, as he pretended to clean the family’s Cornish mansion.

He looked adorable as he trotted around the stunning house in a mini green Royal Marines hoodie, in a video captioned ‘Dusting Down’ by his famous dad.

Chuckling along as Oscar carried out his domestic duties, the famously disciplined chef commented to the camera: ‘Just like Daddy does, clean, clean, clean’.

Gordon is also reportedly celebrating record profits at his TV firm with a cool £2.4million in cash in the bank.

The TV chef will soon be adding to his account as he is set to host a new series for the BBC called Bank Balance.

According to The Sun, Gordon’s firm is also waiting to be paid an additional £3.4m for work he did last year.

With costs and bills taken off, Gordon’s firm has a reported bottom line of £2.2m, a significant increase from £1.3million in 2018.

Books filed to Companies House are said to confirm the company has staff of eight people.

Gordon’s firm makes ITV documentary series The Savoy about life at the luxurious London hotel where the star has a restaurant.

Bank Balance is described as ‘a high-stakes, high-pressure, game show where contestants need both knowledge and nerves to succeed, where they can literally build themselves a fortune or see it come crashing down in an instant’.
