Gordon Ramsay was forced to deny claims he ‘almost caused a crash’ during a lockdown bike ride.

The celebrity chef is currently isolating with his family in Cornwall, and undertook a 26.2mile bike ride on Sunday – in place of the London Marathon.

However, the 53-year-old has been accused of jumping a red light on his journey, and almost causing a ‘nasty accident’.

According to the Sun, a photo showing the dad-of-five on his cycle was shared on Facebook, with an angry local alleging he had gone through the light.

‘I was delivering some shopping to my daughter and this t**t decides to go through a red light at Trewornan Bridge,’ the publication states they said.

‘Very nearly could have been a nasty accident as a car was coming the other way who had to slam on his brakes!’

‘I didn’t realise it was him at first, he was travelling with another man and a lady. The other man also went through the red light, but the lady stopped at the red light.’

The picture in question has been obtained by The Sun, and appears to show Gordon riding his bike in a black and red cycling gear – however his rep told the site the claims are not true.

The Hell’s Kitchen star later shared a snap of himself on Instagram, donning black and red Lycra as he held son Oscar.

‘Sunday funday 26.2 miles DONE,’ he captioned the upload.

‘Thinking about all those charities missing out on today’s London marathon, trust me we will make up for in October especially with my little mascot @oscarjramsay @huubdesign #gosh #gordonandtanaramsayfoundation #returnstronger.’

Gordon is currently isolating at his Cornwall home alongside with Tana, and their children – Megan, Matilda, Holly, Jack and Oscar.

But it hasn’t been smooth sailing for the family, with their time in lockdown marred by claims that angry neighbours are upset over their move from London.

According to reports, residents had taken to social media to tell the family they weren’t ‘wanted’ in the area – despite seeing the property as their main home.

Having none of the claims, a friend defended the Ramsays, telling Metro.co.uk: ‘The family have done nothing wrong, Cornwall is very much their family home where they all spend time together.

‘It has been widely reported they arrived on March 20th so any accusations of acting inappropriately are simply incorrect.’

Gordon’s reps declined to comment.
