Google Maps Street View: Petrifying sight spotted in old Liverpool hotel – what is it?

Google Maps Street View has photographed a terrifying scene on a street in Liverpool. The petrifying image was brought to light three years ago when a Twitter user shared the snap from Street View. The sight was so eerie the man believed there had to be a sinister explanation behind it. The creepy scene was viewed in a window of The Stuart Hotel which is now a pub.

The image shared appears to show two very creepy-looking figures peering out through the glass.

On the right-hand side there looks to be a pale-faced man with no hair.

His head is tipped to one side and his large eyes – which almost have a red tinge about them – are wide open.

In the window pane adjacent, there looks to be a taller figure wearing a tuxedo.

However, the face of this person cannot be seen through the murky window.

There is certainly something eerie about the duo – and Twitter user “Lallana Experiment” who snapped the picture thinks the pub could be haunted.

He told The Liverpool Echo in 2016: “I was looking on Google Street View to find a fish and chip shop in Walton, and I came across The Stuart Hotel.

“Something in the top left-hand window caught my eye. It looks like a ghostly image of an evil-looking face.

“Look closely and it looks like it is breathing on the inside of the window.

“Next to the face is what looks like a man in a tuxedo and dickey bow.

A paranormal expert alleged that the Liverpool pub has been at the centre of paranormal claims for a number of years and is one of 150 haunted pubs in the city.

One story of a haunting dates from 1897 when the landlord supposedly heard a scratching noise in the cellar which got louder and louder.

Three days later the pub is said to have shaken dramatically and the noise stopped.

When a pub customer knocked three times on the wall one night three knocks were allegedly returned. The noise in the cellar is then said to have started up again.

The sound of a distant bell was also heard which sounded for a week until a local priest reportedly placed a bible in the cellar and the noise stopped forever.

Of course, there could well be a rational explanation for the two figures in the window and stories of haunting are nothing more than folklore. What do you think?

Google Maps Street View is home to many creepy sights all over the world, such as these sinister-looking figures on a beach in Russia.

At first glance, the photo appears to depict a mother and two young children playing by the seaside. But on closer inspection, the snapshot in time seems altogether more foreboding.

Rather than being humans of solid flesh and blood the trio have a transparent quality to them.
