The road looks relatively quiet and suburban with a few other houses in the distance.

The area also looks green with allotments at the end of the road and lots of greenery.

Opposite the houses is what appears to be a train track which may explain the strange figure on the rooftop.

On closer inspection, it appears that the figure is dressed up as a superhero.

The person is wearing a red suit with blue patches on the legs, webs and a mask with huge white eyes.

The face has still been blurred out by the Google lens despite the figure being masked.

It appears that the figure is Spiderman from the famous comic books and films.

Japanese Spider-Man is actually a live-action TV series which is based loosely on the Marvel Comics’ Spiderman.

If Google users zoom into the figure, it becomes clear that this actually isn’t a real person.

It appears that the sunlight is reflecting off the figure which means it’s likely that this is just an object placed on the rooftop to entertain passersby on the train.

The bizarre scene was spotted on Google Maps by a Reddit user.

It was captioned: “Spiderman on a roof found in Japan!”

Reddit users immediately commented on the strange sighting with one user pointing out, “I like how they still blurred out the face.”

Another joked: “Fingers crossed this is referenced in future Spiderman films.”

“That’s not Spider-Man, he’s a knockoff version called… um… night monkey”, replied another.
