Google has created a video game that lets you build video games – Mashable SE Asia

Welcome to the future where you can build video games in a video game.

Google made a game called Game Builder which allows you to create simple games within the game without any programming knowledge.

Players can place elements in the world and link prompts or commands to it, allowing the world to interact with the in-game items.

Say, for example, you can place a rocket which can be linked to a button. When the button is pushed, it will launch the rocket.

It even goes as far as giving object certain behaviors or even change its physical properties.

The game’s description also states that you can build a 3D platformer game in just 10 minutes.

What adds to the fun is the co-op capabilities. You and your friends can enter the same world and build a video game together.

If creativity is not your strong suit, you also have the option to browse and try games that others have uploaded.

The game was developed under Google’s Area 120 which has been known for showing off unique products like Advr and Shortwave.

Game Builder makes for a good entry for kids to develop their problem-solving skills, and those of you that have dabbled in programming can use JavaScript to develop your own interactions.

The game was actually launched back in November 2018 and was downloadable on Stream. It was only recently the tech giant decided to publicize the game.

Game Builder can be downloaded for free via Steam for both PC and Mac.
