The Great British weather is always unpredictable so props to Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway for making nifty use of her carrier bag as an impromptu rain cap.

We’ve all been there.

The news presenter was caught without an umbrella on Wednesday morning as she left her taxi on the way into Global Studios for her Smooth Radio show.

The 52-year-old was seen running out of the rain with the distinctive blue bag positioned securely over her hair. The presenter paired it with a camel coat and boots, along with pale blue jeans and a white tee, as she pulled along a suitcase.

Her unique appearance comes several months after she appeared on Loose Women in her Baftas dress to defy the critics who put her in the worst dressed list after the 2019 ceremony.

‘You’ve got to just take it all with a pinch of salt,’ she said.

Kate stood out in an eye-catching orange feather gown with a keyhole detail at the event, but was included in some worst dressed lists online; the Loose Women panel went on to discuss whether or not such lists should be banned as Kate donned the dress for a second time.

Kate explained how she and her daughter picked the dress together even though she felt self-conscious about baring her upper arms.

‘I thought, “I’ll go for it”,’ she told the panel.

Sadly, Kate’s daughter, Darcey, was ‘mortified’ to hear her mum was topping the worst dressed lists.

‘To be honest, when you get to my age, you have to laugh at these things don’t you?’

However, the presenter said she felt it was bad for young girls to see women getting judged in such a way.
