Good Morning Britain's Andi Peters shocks Susanna Reid

Andi Peters left his Good Morning Britain co-hosts speechless on Thursday when he made a cheeky comment about the size of his manhood.

The competitions presenter, 49, wore his dressing gown live on air in a bid to highlight how ill he had been after being struck down with the shingles last week.

Introducing Andi’s segment to viewers, Susanna Reid asked him: ‘Andi hasn’t quite shaken off your illness, have you?’

Mocking his choice of dressing gown, Ben Shephard likened the TV personality to the ‘Hugh Hefner of competitions’.

Andi said: ‘This is how I relax and what Alex [Beresford] was worried about is the fact that I have still got other stuff underneath…

‘I told him the dressing gown wasn’t long enough – for other reasons!’

Susanna was heard screeching, ‘HAH!’, off-screen, caught off guard with what she’d just heard.

GMB viewers at home were equaly baffled, taking to Twitter to express their disbelief at what they’d just heard.

One joked, ‘Did Andy Peters really just say that” #GMB’, while another shared, ‘Why is Andi Peter’s in his dressing gown? #GMB (sic)’.

A third posted: ‘Andy Peters leading us to believe he’s hung like an elephants trunk #gmb’.

Andi had taken his very first sick day in 20 years last week when he was struck down with shingles.

He returned to GMB on Wednesday this week, with Piers Morgan celebrating his comeback by taking a swipe at stand-in host Jack Fincham’s presenting skills.

The presenter declared:  ‘Yes I am back. Thanks for all the people who have sent me messages.

‘Susanna sent me some texts, thanks Susanna for wishing me well. Ranvir [Singh] sent me some fruit. Thank you so much

‘Alex didn’t send me anything, not even a text. So forget it!’ as a visibly awkward Alex watched on.

‘Piers also got in touch, but what did he say? He said he almost misses me so that’s good enough for me! ‘

Discussing his time on sick leave he said: ‘I would say I’m back to 90 per cent, that’s good enough to be here.

‘Thank you to everyone who has sent me a text. It’s amazing when you have shingles that you can share the story with others.

‘You just have to listen to your body, it’s horrible. I had 12 days off! It’s so bizarre. I’ve watched so much of The West Wing! It feels like I’m at home again.’

Piers, 54, then took a savage swipe at Love Island winner Jack, 28, and his presenting skills.

Susanna, 49, then clarified he was referring to Jack with Piers adding: ‘We got down to asking him what day it was and even then he struggled.’

A triumphant Andi retorted: ‘Let’s take it back, Piers missed me. You heard it here first.’

Presenter Susanna revealed last Wednesday that Andi wouldn’t be available for work due to the nerve infection.

The host told ITV viewers: ‘Sorry, I’ve just got some breaking news from Andi Peters’ sick bed. He’s got shingles. First day off in 20 years.’

When her co-host Piers  quizzed Susanna on how to contract shingles, she responded by saying:’It’s chicken pox for adults.’

Good Morning Britain newsreader Ranvir chimed in to inform Piers that the viral disease is ‘really bad’.

Wishing Andi well, Piers said: ‘I feel sorry for Andi, it’s not the same without you mate. Sorry about your shingles. Hope you get well soon.’
