Good Morning America host George Stephanopoulous has admitted that it came as no surprise that he has tested positive for coronavirus.
The TV anchor had been caring for his wife Ali Wentworth as she battled Covid-19 and now it’s been confirmed that he’s also contracted the virus.
Thankfully the 59-year-old hasn’t shown any symptoms so far and he is still able to continue his presenting duties from home as he self-isolates.
Speaking to his co-anchors Robin Roberts and Michael Strahan, he explained: ‘I also learned that my test came back positive for COVID, which is really no surprise given that I have been here for a couple of weeks
‘But I am one of those I guess cases that are asymptomatic. I have never had a fever.’
He continued: ‘Never had chills. Never had a headache. Never had a cough. Never had shortness of breath. I’m feeling great.’
George then went on to give an update about his wife as he added: ‘She is doing much much better. She is going on her fifth day now with no fever which is a good sign.
‘Slowly getting out of bed a little bit more each day. So we are really happy about that.’
Ali – who shares two daughters with George – first revealed her diagnosis on March 31 in an Instagram post.
The 55-year-old admitted she has ‘never been sicker’ as she wrote: ‘I have tested positive for the Corona Virus. I’ve never been sicker.
‘High fever. Horrific body aches. Heavy chest. I’m quarantined from my family. This is pure misery. #stayhome.’
