Do you remember Superbad, the high school comedy starring Jonah Hill, Michael Cera and Christopher Mintz-Plasse as teenagers trying to score alcohol for a party?

The movie Good Boys follows in a similar fashion but with a cast of pre-teen misfits who ‘run around with drugs, fight with frat guys and lock a cop in a convenience store’.

It was produced by Seth Rogen, the actor who wrote the screenplay for Superbad, so it’s guaranteed that there will be plenty of twists and turns to keep the audience laughing.

Here’s everything we know about the film, including the age rating, when it will be released and who stars in it. Be warned, there are spoilers ahead.

Good Boys release date and age rating

The movie hits UK cinemas today (16 August).

Despite featuring children as the main characters, it has some strong content and has been rated as Restricted (R), which means anyone under 17 will need to be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.

Seth makes a reference to the rating in the opening scene of the trailer where he tells the young stars of movie that they’re not allowed to watch the trailer because it features drugs, violence and swearing – and there’s also a scene where the trio find a stash of sex toys.
