Hunter Leigh, Head of Esports at Golden State Warriors discussed the partnership in a release: “Our partnership with Zenni will directly help our players continue to perform at a high level, block blue light and reduce eye strain. Blokz blue blocker eyewear is a critical offering that will allow for improved player health and well-being.”

As a result of the deal, Golden Guardians’ players will wear Zenni Optical’s prescription glasses as well as its “blue blocker lenses” to reduce the straight when practicing. The glasses retailer will also act as a jersey sponsor for the franchise and have its logo promoted on its social media and digital channels. The new partnership also involves digital content.

Sean Pate, Head of Partnerships for Zenni also commented on the deal: “We are really looking forward to joining the Golden Guardians and play a valuable part in their team’s performance. We know gamers spend countless hours in front of their computers, and we’re advocating better eye health by offering affordable protective eyewear that reduces headaches, eye strain and uninterrupted sleep.”

Zenni Optical has now joined Madrinas Coffee and RIG Gaming as partners of Golden Guardians. The former was announced in March, with the latter being revealed at the top of the year. It’s also in a deal with sports and entertainment brand Fathead.

Esports Insider says: Golden State Warriors has seemingly been careful and taking its time when it comes to acquiring partners for its LCS franchise, which can’t always be said in this industry. Having a coffee partner and now an eyewear partner is certainly unique and, especially in the case of this new deal, it makes some sense.
