Golden Boy final shortlist confirmed: Four Premier League players make the cut


Four Premier League players have made the cut with the 20-man Golden Boy final shortlist having been announced.

The prestigious award is given to the best player under the age of 21 to be playing in the top tier of European football.

The likes of Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi and Paul Pogba have all previously won the award.

Matthijs de Ligt picked up the gong in 2018 and is again on the shortlist, with the winner set to be announced in Turin on December 16.

Chelsea ace Mason Mount has made the cut after an impressive year with Manchester City starlet Phil Foden also in the running.

Moise Kean, who joined Everton from Juventus in the summer, could also take the prize though Arsenal’s Matteo Guendouzi will be hoping he can take the silverware.

England and Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho is named as well as Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior and Manchester United transfer target Erling Braut Haaland.
