Gogglebox star Pete McGarry dies after short illness as family pay tribute

Gogglebox star Pete McGarry has sadly died at the age of 71.

The loveable pensioner joined the show alongside his wife Linda and son George at the start of the second series of the hit Channel 4 show in 2013.

The family from Clacton, Essex, left the show in 2014 so George could make an appearance on celebrity version of Big Brother.

Pete and Linda returned as a duo and became firm favourites with Gogglebox viewers as they bagged a regular slot.

The family first appeared on the show in 2013
