Gogglebox duo slammed for accusing Joe Wicks of ‘cashing in on pandemic’

Gogglebox duo Sophie and Pete have been slammed by fans of the hit TV show for mocking online PT and fitness instructor Joe Wicks.

The siblings have come under fire after the accused Joe of cashing in on the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Joe, 33, has transformed himself into the nation’s PE teacher during Covid-19 lockdown by doing live workout sessions for children who are now stuck at home.

Keen not to been as piggy backing of the hardship of the country, all money raised from his YouTube videos will go directly to the NHS.

Pete and Sophie angered Gogglebox fans for mocking Joe Wicks

Pete, 25, and Sophie, 23, watch as Joe appeared on The Andrew Marr Show to talk about his journey.

Unable to resist a playful dig, Sophie said: “Just a webcam. YouTube channel.”

Meanwhile, Pete added: “And capitalising on a pandemic.”

Speaking on Good Morning Britain earlier this week, Joe told Piers Morgan that so far he has raised £100,000 in advertising revenue which will go to help those on the frontline.

Pete and Sophie’s comments didn’t go down well with the show despite them being two of the best-loved stars of the show.

One fan fumed: “Slagging Joe wicks off. Shame on you.

“What have you coach potatoes done recently?”
