The publication reports that the coronavirus pandemic ‘threw Foxtel’s original plans into chaos,’ but producers are taking necessary steps to bring the show to life.

There is reportedly little contact now between crew and the stars of Gogglebox’s original series while filming at their homes in lockdown.

Radio star Jackie O could be appearing on the spin-off, after her stint on Channel 10’s The Masked Singer Australia.

The news comes after the stars of Gogglebox Australia celebrated reaching 100 episodes.

It is a huge milestone for the reality series, that was initially doubted for so many, including the cast.

While reflecting on the past five years of filming on Wednesday, multiple long time stars explained they had to deal with their own and their loved ones’ doubts that it was just ‘people watching people watching television’.

Fan favourites Lee and Keith revealed they thought the show would be very short-lived.

‘What did I think? “Oh, it will last an episode and then we don’t have to worry about it”,’ Lee, 59, recalled.

Holding up his beer, 60-year-old Keith added: ‘And we’re still going magnificent Here’s cheers to 100. Here’s cheers to another 100.’

The beloved pair recently told TV Blackbox that they had initially turned down the casting agent.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Foxtel and representatives of Jackie O for comment in relation to this article.
