The release date for Godzilla vs Kong has been moved up to March instead of May, as other movies face major delays.

The flick will now be released on March 26 instead of May 21, according to Deadline.

As part of Warner Bros’ 2021 slate, it’s set to be released simultaneously into theatres and on HBO Max – and we’re so ready.

The upcoming monster movie will see Godzilla and Kong collide in a ‘battle for the ages’.

The synopsis continues: ‘As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.’

The likes of Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, and Rebecca Hall are also set to star in the movie.

Warner Bros revealed earlier this month that its entire 2021 slate will also be released on HBO Max for 31 days as well as cinemas.

Ann Sarnoff, chair and CEO, WarnerMedia Studios and Networks Group, told The Hollywood Reporter: ‘We’re living in unprecedented times which call for creative solutions, including this new initiative for the Warner Bros. Pictures Group.

‘No one wants films back on the big screen more than we do. We know new content is the lifeblood of theatrical exhibition, but we have to balance this with the reality that most theaters in the U.S. will likely operate at reduced capacity throughout 2021.’

She continued: ‘With this unique one-year plan, we can support our partners in exhibition with a steady pipeline of world-class films, while also giving moviegoers who may not have access to theaters or aren’t quite ready to go back to the movies the chance to see our amazing 2021 films.

‘We see it as a win-win for film lovers and exhibitors, and we’re extremely grateful to our filmmaking partners for working with us on this innovative response to these circumstances.’

Godzilla vs Kong is set for release on March 26.
