Gods & Monsters is the Zelda lookalike by the Assassin’s Creed team

If you’re a fan of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, then you’re going to love Gods & Monsters. Announced by Ubisoft at E3 2019 and in development by the team behind the latest Assassin’s Creed title, Gods and Monsters looks to fill the mythical RPG gap in the upcoming game roster.

The game is set on the Island of the Blessed, which looks very similar to a little place called Hyrule, and that’s not the only Zelda-inspired feature either; you’ll explore the open world swinging a sword, shooting a bow and arrow and utilising your telekinetic powers, and there’s even a stamina meter for good measure too. So far, very Zelda. What’s different is that this game will be based on Greek mythology, something that the Odyssey team has a lot of experience with.

Of course, it is a cinematic reveal trailer so it is possible that the finished game could have a unique art style – unlikely, but possible.

But despite no real gameplay on offer, Gods and Monsters already has a release date: 25 February 2020. It’ll be available on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, although there’s no word yet on whether it’ll be available on the next-gen Google Stadia or Project Scarlett.
