GMB's Piers Morgan slams footy ace Jack Grealish in furious coronavirus rant

Good Morning Britain‘s Piers Morgan took aim at the Aston Villa ace Jack Grealish for apparently breaking the government’s lockdown rules.

Snaps of the sportsman circulated online over the weekend showing Jack, 24, outside a luxury block of flats close to Birmingham where his former team-mate Ross McCormack is believed to live.

The images of Jack outside came just hours after he released a video begging people of the United Kingdom to take the rise of Covid-19, coronavirus, seriously.

Holding up a front page which showed an image of Jack on the street in a blue hoodie, Piers vented: “He had a lot to say last week.

“It was really good until you go to your mates.

“Was are you thinking to Jack? What happened to being sensible.”

The former tabloid editor added: “It doesn’t help when an England star, a role model, breaks the rules. Shame on you.”

In his video, Jack called for people to stay at home and save lives.

Grealish said: “To help save lives you must stay at home.

Jack has previously been praised for telling his fans to stay indoors

“Only leave your house to buy food, to buy medicine or to exercise, and always remember to stay at least two metres apart.

“This is urgent, protect the NHS. Stay at home, save lives.”

Not stopping there, Piers went on to vent at reports a 25 strong house party was raided in Derby for deliberately ignoring the rules.

“25 morons decided to throw a karaoke party,” he raged.

“All you have to do is stay at home and obey the rules.

Jack is one of the UK’s biggest sporting stars

“There is a section of the community who doesn’t care.”

He added: “Boris johns or his team has said one of the reason he didn’t want to put us into lockdown earlier is because he didn’t think people would have the stomach for a long fight.

“I found this a ludicrous notion, this generation are not being asked to fight for the country like the second world war generation.

“They are asked to sit at home and watch TV but that is still beyond people.”

More photos on social media also appear to show a damaged Range Rover, which has been abandoned on double yellow lines on the same street.

Officers from the West Midlands Police claimed that the driver left the scene on foot and they were still trying to track the individual down.

West Midlands Police refused to confirm the identity of the man they were tracking over the incident when Reach PLC contacted them.

A spokesman said in a statement yesterday: “We were called just before 10am to reports that a Range Rover had crashed into two parked cars in the street.

“The driver left his details with a member of the public at the scene before leaving on foot.

“He will be spoken to by police in due course. Minor damage was caused to the parked vehicles.

“Officers are investigating the circumstances and anyone with information has been asked to get in touch.”
