GMB presenter suffers awkward on-air gaffe after 'visiting the bar'

Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Arnold accidentally got the name of the ITV show wrong – calling it GMTV.

The error came as Kate Garraway and Adil Ray’s co-star ‘poured a pint’ at the show’s new bar before introducing Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills on Good Morning Britain today.

Richard told viewers: “Before we meet Scott Mills, I’m delighted to introduce the concept of a working bar at GMTV.”

Realising what he’d done, Richard looked shocked as he rocked a dropped jaw.

He then seemed to blame the error on his ‘beer’ as he took a glug from the glass.

Kate then told viewers: “Welcome to 1993 everyone.”

GMTV was GMB’s predecessor – airing from January 1993 to 3 September 2010.

It became a wholly owned subsidiary of ITV in November 2009, and shortly after the channel announced the programme would end.

The show’s main weekday presenters at launch were Fiona Armstrong and Michael Wilson.

Kate also presented on the show herself, as did Ben Shephard and This Morning’s Eamonn Holmes.

The gaffe comes after Kate, 52, left her co-stars stunned with a very cheeky innuendo yesterday.

While talking about Brits’ favourite things, Kate said she likes finding change in her bag.

However, she told Adil that she “always has a root around the front flap,” making wild hand gestures.

What is she like, eh?

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am.
