GOOD Morning Britain fans rejoiced at Piers Morgan’s return to the show, taking to Twitter to cheer “Piers is back!”
The opinionated anchorman, 54, made his ITV comeback today, following a break for the Halloween half term holiday.
Not pulling any punches, he grilled Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage on the General Election, calling him out on his political stance and potential to form a deal with the Conservative Party.
He also quizzed him on his decision not to stand as a candidate.
One GMB fan took to Twitter to put: “It’s good to have Piers Morgan back on GMB. The snowflakes are a trembling. “
A second added: “#GMB welcome back Piers Morgan.”
A third was clearly chuffed, and put: “When is Piers back ?? it’s just not the same without him ?.”
One then simply put: “Nice to see Piers back.”
Piers’ co-host, Susanna Reid, was last week joined by Adil Ray in his absence.
Yet at the start of the week, their infamous banter resumed.
It came to a head during a segment about the festive track, Baby It’s Cold Outside, where Piers took fire at John Legend’s decision to re-vamp the lyrics to the track.
Susanna argued: “he’s not trying to clean up music,” as Piers insisted he was.
John Legend is not trying to re-write rap music – you are completely misinterpreting what he is doing.”
After their frosty exchange, a Twitter user wrote: “#GMB here we go again .. morgan is back which only means 1 thing .. susanna and her million expressions.”
Piers’ comeback came after fans feared he had been sacked from the ITV breakfast series.
An online poll last month, aired on the show, saw 60% of 482,270 fans voting for Piers to get the boot.
The outspoken star had sparked a furious debate when he claimed he identified as a penguin in an on-air rant about gender last month – leading to a petition demanded for the star to be axed.
Piers moaned: “The poll was 80% in my favour after the day we ran it and then these weird people in Los Angeles, very, very demented, hysterical people, got hold of the poll and they’ve now turned it into a 60/40 split against me.
Here’s the thing, I think they genuinely think they’re going to get rid of me and that’s what makes this more the funnier.“
Piers was actually just taking a break for the half term holiday .
