FORECASTER Sam Champion returned to Good Morning America as fans were shocked by Robin Roberts’ criticism of his latest project.
Sam is back on GMA as the program’s meteorologist Rob Marciano remains off-air.

He went back and forth with Robin in what was friendly banter where the two anchors shared laughs and sarcastic quips with each other.
“The dynamic duo is back!” tweeted a fan, who shared a clip of the Monday morning’s program where Robin jokingly asked Sam to help the team participate in a competition to find “the best burger spot in the land.”
“Well, I do believe I have been called upon, Robin, it was not my idea,” Sam said, as Robin gave a cheeky smile to the camera and said “Right,” in a sarcastic tone.
“I wasn’t in there going ‘please, let me get a burger,’ … not for something like a burger, I mean, who likes burgers?” said Sam, earning laughs off-camera.
“Taking one for the team, you’re such a great guy, Sam,” Robin quipped as the two laughed.
QUICK COMEBACKS
Sam is known for his sassy responses. Earlier this month, he had an amazing comeback to a viewer after being called out for “living dangerously.”
The viewer on Twitter was referring to a segment where Sam appears to be holding an iPhone without a case around it.
Sam responded to the viewer: “Lol. It’s my work phone #bringcoffee (never use it)”
He used various emojis like the crying laughing face and the “shh” face in a joking manner.
The comment section was lighthearted just like Sam’s remark.
One fan commented: “Wait .. you have a work phone and then your phone.. Omgg I can barely keep track of one phone .. how do you do that ?!”
Sam is usually quick with funny comebacks. Just two days ago, he was joking around with GMA anchor Robin Roberts.
When talking about a few summer must-haves during the summer solstice, Roberts said: “You’ve been talking about like the hats, and you know the cocoa butter, but you haven’t mentioned the speedo.”
The panel laughed along.
“Well, Robin, it is part of the very typical summer solstice kit,” Sam joked.
“And it is a gold lamé one,” he added.
The jokes got even better on Twitter.
“@RobinRoberts went there,” one user tweeted with an embarrassed emoji.
“Yes, I went there but Sam took it to another level!! Per usual!” Robin tweeted back.
Sam responded to the user with his summer solstice checklist, including emoji checkmarks between items.
“Basic #SummerSolstice kit: bongos, grass skirt, coconut hat, pineapple drink cocoa butter, gold lamé speedo.”
WHERE’S ROB?
ans have been expressing their concern on social media over Rob’s absence, as one wrote on Twitter: “Anyone else really misses Rob Marciano on GMA Weekend? Wonder what happened.”
Another wrote on Twitter: “If Rob Marciano is definitely off GMA – it’s sad that you can’t give him the proper send-off… If he decided he didn’t want anything, that’s fine.”
A third said: “So many of us wonder if it’s true Rob Marciano is gone and no one is giving us the truth you owe it to us and fans.”
Rob sparked more concern when Sam filled in for Ginger Zee in June.
Rob often covered for Ginger during the week.
The meteorologist has yet to remove the show from his social media bios.
On Twitter, Rob still tells followers: “Good Morning America / ABC News Meteorologist (CBM). Dad, husband, science guy, sports fan, and outdoor enthusiast.”
On Instagram, his bio reads: “GMA/ABC News #Meteorologist, #Dad, #Sports Fan, #Weather Fan, #Outdoor Enthusiast, #Environmentalist.”
