Gloria Estefan has teased ‘plenty of surprises’ for Jennifer Lopez and Shakira’s Super Bowl performance – but ruled herself out of a guest appearance.

The singer, 62, admitted she knows some of the tricks Jennifer and Shakira have up their sleeve for the Super Bowl Halftime Show, but she wasn’t giving anything away.

She told Entertainment Tonight: ‘I’ll be there in heart and soul and spirit, and cheering for them every step of the way. But no, no.

‘They’ve got plenty of surprises coming on, I can guarantee… I am not at liberty to say [what/who they are].

‘They will kick my butt if I say something. No. I cannot, but it’s gonna be exciting!’

Jen and Shakira will take the stage at this weekend’s Super Bowl on Sunday 2 February, and details of their performance are a well-kept secret so far.

Performers usually bring a special guest or two for their set, and names that are rumoured to be on the list for this year are Pitbull and Wyclef Jean.

Gloria teased that Miami native Pitbull – also known as Mr Worldwide – could be making an appearance: ‘He could be. I know a couple of other people very big here that’ll probably make an appearance.’

While Gloria was also hotly-tipped to make a guest appearance – and she has graced the stage in both 1992 and 1999 – she ruled out performing, but passed on her advice to the girls.

She explained: ‘You’ve gotta be on that A-game. It’s gotta be rehearsed. Everything is rehearsed, every inch of movement on that stage. So, it’s exciting.

‘I’ve done it a couple of times. It’s very high-pressure because if you do great, fantastic, billions of people [are] watching you. If you mess up, billions of people [are] watching you.’

While there is no word on what this weekend’s Halftime show will involve, Demi Lovato has been confirmed to sing the national anthem at the event.

We can’t wait to see what JLo and Shakira have been cooking up.

The Super Bowl Halftime Show will take place on Sunday 2 February 2020.
