Glenn Hoddle has hailed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as ‘different class’ ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Manchester United, backing the forward to be a key player at Old Trafford.

Aubameyang has shone in an otherwise frustrating start to the season for Arsenal, with Unai Emery’s side managing just three wins from their opening six games in the Premier League.

The Gabon striker has been in red hot form, scoring seven goals in seven appearances, and got the Gunners out of trouble with a dramatic winner against Aston Villa last weekend.

United, meanwhile, have only managed two victories this term and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finds himself under considerable pressure following an abject 2-0 defeat away at West Ham.

Former England and Tottenham midfielder Hoddle is yet to be convinced by either side, but believes we are likely to see an entertaining goal-fest on Monday night.

‘It’s got goals written all over it because there’s attacking players and creative players on both sets of teams, without a doubt,’ the former Tottenham and England midfielder told Premier League Productions.

‘But I think United’s defence will slightly outdo Arsenal’s.

‘That could be a 2-2 draw, it could be a 4-3. I’m not sure which way it will go.

‘Arsenal at the end will have the emphasis to go forward and I think United will look to hit on the break.

‘But that depends… if Arsenal score first, what do they do? Can they hang on to a 1-0? No. The old “1-0 to the Arsenal” has gone out the window years ago so I think there’s goals.’

Hoddle argues that Aubameyang is the only player from either side who could walk into a European XI on current form.

‘This fella [Aubamayang] is different class,’ he continued.

‘How many of those players at United would get into any other team in Europe? I’m not so sure. Pogba at his very best maybe but anyone else I’m not sure. Maguire, possibly.

‘Aubameyang would walk into any team. Any team!’
