Glastonbury 2019 weather forecast: Mostly dry and warm with a smattering of showers

Glastonbury is back in business this year and the full lineup has been announced, so the biggest question remaining is whether the weather will be any good.

With Stormzy, The Cure and The Killers all set to headline the Pyramid stage, festival-goers are keen to know if the British summertime will deliver a beautiful setting for performances from the world’s best live acts… or if they’ll need to pack a raft and some wellington boots instead of sunglasses and shorts.

So far it’s looking very positive: weather during 28 – 30 June is currently set to be fairly warm and dry, with just a few possible showers (so definitely don’t forget your waterproofs).

According to the Met Office, while there are high chances of heavy showers up in the North over the weekend, Glastonbury should be spared the larger part of it and will experience “light cloud and gentle breeze”.

That being said, all campers and party animals should be prepared for some showers, particularly on Saturday.

“Towards the south and southeast it will most likely stay [dry], and warm at times, but there is the risk of some thundery showers spreading in from the south,” the Met Office report reads.

With a little bit of luck, the relative dryness and warm temperatures of roughly 22C are looking like they’ll be pretty settled throughout the weekend. So, fingers crossed for no excessive mud-sliding.

“There are signs that high pressure may become more dominant by late-June, bringing a chance of settled and warm weather,” the Met Office says.

While there are no guarantees, Met Office forecaster Martin Bowles has told Somerset Live that it’s likely to be a warm and dry one, but it’ll be easier to predict by the weekend before the festival.
