An architectural practice which has worked on some of Scotland’s best-known developments has gone under with the loss of 27 jobs.
Glasgow-based ADF Architects had carried out work on the Radisson Red hotel, which opened last year near the SSE Hydro, the development of a housing site at the gateway to the Merchant City and the £200 million redevelopment of Glasgow Harbour over its 30-year lifespan.
Brian Milne of French Duncan has been appointed provisional liquidator and all 27 employees were made redundant by the directors prior to the liquidation appointment.
Milne said: “This is a very sad day for ADF Architects who were a renowned practice providing many high-quality designs over their 30 years of operations.
Milne said that over the last five years there have been 84 Scottish insolvencies of architecture and related engineering activities and related technical consultancies which have entered an insolvency process “showing just how difficult it can be to operate a practice in the current marketplace”.
