Girl, 5, meets baby brother for the first time and delivers 'iconic' judgement

The arrival of a newborn can be a difficult time for their siblings who are used to having all the attention for themselves.

One little girl who wasn’t keen to share the spotlight found an hilarious way to nip any potential excitement in the bud.

Mum Skye Masson, 26, gave birth to baby boy Carter at the Southern General Maternity Unit in Glasgow this week.

Following the birth, Skye’s family visited the hospital to see how her and Carter were doing – including her five-year-old daughter Harper.

Skye’s sister, Renèe Shaw, took a video to capture the heartwarming moment Harper met her baby brother for the first time.

The video has had more than 300,000 views on Twitter

The comment shocked mum Skye and her sister Renèe

Rather than melt at the sight of her adorable little sibling, an unimpressed Harper simply looked the newest addition to the family up and down and said: “Look at the state of him.”

The comment left others in the room shocked, and 18-year-old Renèe decided to post the funny reaction on her Twitter account with the caption: “Listen closely to see what Harper thinks of her new baby brother.”

The video has racked up more than 300,000 views and 13,000 likes, as it left others in hysterics at her cheeky putdown.

One wrote: “Lmao howlin at this”

A second simply added: “Iconic”

Another stuck up for her, saying: “She did say it very politely though.”

Speaking about the moment, Renèe said: “My sister Skye gave birth on Tuesday.

“I was shocked when Harper said that about her baby brother and Skye was shocked also.

“But now Harper adores her baby brother and cannot wait until he is home.”
