Gird your loins! The Devil Wears Prada author says we could be getting a TV spin-off of the iconic film

Following on from the epic Friends reunion and news of a new Spice Girls single, this week it seems we’re feeling nostalgic for iconic film, The Devil Wears Prada.

After yesterday’s fanfare over Nate being the true villain of the film, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive over a potential TV reboot.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, author Lauren Weisberger – who wrote the book the film is based on – revealed that there’s been plenty of chatter about the iconic 2006 film getting a reboot for a TV series or sequel. Please make it happen.

Fans of the book will know that arch nemesis’s-turned-pals, Andy (Anne Hathaway) and Emily (Emily Blunt), joined forces to launch their own publication, which is what the sequel could potentially follow.

Speaking about a possible reboot, Lauren said: “There have been a lot of conversations about it. I wouldn’t say it’s out of the realm of possibility.”

But wait! Don’t get too thirsty; the film’s director, David Frankel, isn’t quite as keen.

He said: “[The studio] didn’t ask for [a sequel]. We had a meeting where we said, “What could we do if there was a sequel?” Maybe it was stupid; we felt like, No, this story has been told… Lauren eventually wrote another book following up 15 years later.

“We came to the same conclusion, that just following the characters wouldn’t be the same.”

Oh, you teases. We’ll keep you updated when we hear more.
