Gigi Hadid is auctioning off designer items from her personal wardrobe, in a bid to raise money for charity.
The supermodel – who is expecting her first child with boyfriend Zayn Malik – has teamed up with British Vogue for their The Way We Wore auction, fundraising for NHS staff as well as NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People) amid the pandemic.
She has donated a top and a skirt from Rihanna’s Fenty line to the cause, as well as a dreamy Dior saddlebag.
Speaking about the initiative – in association with Hardly Ever Worn It – the 25-year-old said: ‘I appreciate the opportunity to give back in this way, and hope that whoever ends up with these pieces – the Fenty top and skirt and Dior saddlebag – really enjoys them, knowing that their contribution will help those struggling due to Covid-19.
‘Zayn and I send our love and best wishes to everyone.’
Gigi has been joined by a string of famous faces raising money from their own wardrobes for the 72-hour auction – which kicked off on 9 June – with sister Bella Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Imaam Hammam, Irina Shayk and Ashley Graham among those taking part.
The Victoria’s Secret star recently made headlines after confirming her baby news at the beginning of last month.
After intense speculation, she announced her pregnancy while appearing on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.
‘Obviously we wish we could have announced it on our own terms but we’re very excited and happy, and grateful for everyone’s well-wishes and support,’ she told the host.
‘It definitely wasn’t bad news and we’re happy now to be excited about it.’
And, chatting in an Instagram Live session a few weeks later, Gigi confessed she was already ‘a few months’ pregnant while hitting the catwalk during fashion month.
Laughing off surgery rumours in a stream with make-up artist Erin Parsons, she added: ‘People think I do fillers on my face, and that’s why my face is round – I’ve had this since I was born.
‘Especially fashion month, when I was already, like, a few months preggo, you know.’
While there have been rumours flying about that Zigi will be welcoming a baby girl, they have yet to address the speculation.
