Many couples who had wedding plans for 2020 have found that their plans were well and truly scuppered by coronavirus.

This company has started a new Wedding in the Sky package, offering a unique way for folks to still get married even if they can’t have a ‘normal’ wedding.

Air Charter Service is now taking bookings for small weddings on their private jets, with the option of the plane taking them off to their honeymoon destination.

‘Sadly, many couples have had to abandon their original wedding plans due to Covid-19,’ Andy Christie, group private jets director at Air Charter Service, said in a statement.

‘At Air Charter Service, we wanted to offer a solution to enable our clients to still have their dream wedding celebrations.’

Couples can have food and drinks included, and either choose a wedding for just the two of them, or have a small number of loved ones on-board.

‘The flight route can be pre-arranged, so the aircraft can fly over areas of significance to those who are celebrating their marriage,’ Andy continued.

‘While 2020 has been a year of uncertainty, we can ensure newlyweds end the year on a high with our fantastic new “Weddings in the Sky” experiences.’

Getting wed at 30,000 feet may seem like something from Don’t Tell the Bride, but it’s a much more luxurious experience (with a price tag to match).

Packages start at $28,000 (£21,713) for a plane that holds 16 people.

The soon-to-be-newlyweds will get a chauffeur-driven car to the airport, champagne, canapés, personalised wedding favours for everyone taking part, a member of the cabin crew to act as an officiant, flowers, and an official playlist.

As Andy mentioned, they’ll also have the option to add on a customised flight path.

For a ‘mere’ $18,000 (£14,023), you can elope with the company’s Just the Two of Us package. This one means no guests, but will give you the chance to enjoy a memorable day with your beau.
