Geri Horner transforms into Queen Elizabeth I for new YouTube channel Rainbow Woman

Geri Horner has transformed into Queen Elizabeth I for the first video posted on her new YouTube channel Rainbow Woman.

The Spice Girl paid tribute to the monarch – one of Britain’s most iconic Girl Power figures – by getting all dressed up and heading to Ashridge House, where the figurehead lived until she was arrested by her sister Queen Mary in 1554.

Throwing herself into the role, Geri performed and directed a monologue she had written herself.

‘Fear not, you’ve been more loyal to me than any prince,’ she uttered. ‘I was just practicing. You’re my favourite. But never forget, we’re a charge of light striking through that despairing rain.’

As she climbed into her horse drawn carriage, Geri turned around and told the camera: ‘Though she be but little, she is fierce.’

Geri’s new YouTube channel sees the star take on a range of ‘big and little adventures’ from sailing and driving an army tank, to attempting beekeeping.

Speaking in the trailer for her new project, Geri said: ‘Sometimes there’s just something inside of us and I need to let it out.’

Holding back tears, she added: ‘As you get older you can sometimes feel a little bit weathered.

‘I’ve learnt so much as I’ve gone along on this adventure. I realised I wanted to share with you what I love, and I wanted to say thank you.’

In a personal message written to her fans, Geri wrote: ‘Hello you, For the last 25 years, we’ve been on an amazing journey together.

‘I want to share something from my heart… something real, something I hope will inspire. Rainbow Woman is my love letter to you. It’s about sharing our spirit.
I’m taking you on a girl power adventure of discovery.

‘Together, we go up a mountain, down the river and back in time … and with music I wrote, it’ll be a 360 experience, for you, for us, for everybody.

‘Thank you for being there for me. I want to be here with you … for all the rainbow people. With love, Geri.’

Viewers expressed their excitement at Geri’s new endeavour, with many on tenterhooks while they wait for the next video.

‘Yesssss Geri!!! This is exactly what I need to get through this 2nd lockdown! Xxx,’ commented one.

Echoing a similar sentiment, another added: ‘I can’t wait to see more Geri! This project is going to be amazing!!❤💖❤.’
