Legendary Star Trek actor George Takei said he may be up for staring in Quentin Tarantino’s potential Star Trek project.

The 82-year-old actor and influencer, who played Sulu in the original Star Trek films, said he would think about being in a Tarantino-directed Star Trek, depending on the script.

Takei’s somewhat mysterious take on Tarantino’s possible sci-fi venture sees him not quite as committed as his arch rival William Shatner, who played James T Kirk in the original films.

Yet he’s definitely intrigued.

Takei is apparently up for getting a call from Tarantino, Yahoo reported.

Speaking about being in Tarantino’s Star Trek, the actor said: ‘Well, it all depends.

‘He is a very individualistic filmmaker, so he will decide how he envisions it, who he is gonna cast.’

And when asked if he would say yes if Tarantino asked him to be in the new Star Trek, Takei decided not to give too much away.

‘It depends on the script,’ he said.

Despite being in his 80s, Takei is busy with work and can definitely afford to be picky.

Earlier this month a documentary, They Called Us Enemy, was released about Takei’s childhood in a Japanese internment camp during World War II and he is also starring in the upcoming AMC series, The Terror.

Alongside this, Takei has become a noteworthy social media voice with a huge following as he debates politics and issues of the day.

Tarantino isn’t shy about how up he is for making a Star Trek film.

The Pulp Fiction director has revealed how much of an original Star Trek fan he is and now he has a vision for a new Star Trek, which he would direct of course.

And in true Tarantino style, there’s no way his Star Trek would be free from swearing.

In the original Star Treks, fans heard little more than ‘dammit’ from any characters, but Tarantino admitted he wouldn’t hold back if he were to direct it.

When asked if he would use swear words he answered ‘oh yeah!’.

The director added: ‘There’s a script that exists for it now. I need to weigh in on it, but I haven’t been able to do that yet.’

It seems Tarantino has thought a lot about this, even though he’s not officially signed on to direct the film.
