George Ezra donates music to Joe Wicks' PE lessons and royalties go to NHS

George Ezra has ensured his sweet sounds will help more than a million people keep active with Joe Wicks during the coronavirus outbreak.

The popstar has also done his bit for the NHS by giving the fitness trainer permission to use his hits during daily workouts which have captivated the nation during the crisis.

Health and wellbeing expert Joe has been getting people of all ages on their feet every weekday since the country went into lockdown.

But due to copyright issues, he has been able to add music to the videos, which he live streams via his YouTube channel, until now.

Taking to his Instagram page earlier today, Budapest hitmaker George revealed he has given the go ahead for his songs to be used, and all royalties will go directly the NHS.

The 26-year-old said he’d been inspired to contribute because of his primary school teacher mum, who continues to work through the crisis despite schools being closed for children of key workers.

George said: “So, yesterday my mum rang me on her lunch break. She’s a teacher at a primary school and each morning her and the kids are tuning in for PE with Joe.

“Joe mentioned that it was a shame that there was no music on during the classes but because of copyright issues he couldn’t use songs in the background. My mum suggested I offer Joe and the kids my songs to use. I got in touch with Joe and we made it happen.”

He added: “The coolest thing is that all royalties made from the songs being used are going directly to the NHS!

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to Joe for being the worlds fitness coach throughout all of this and an even bigger thank you to my amazing mum and all the other incredible teachers up and down the country for everything they’re doing.”

Sharing the post with his 789,000 followers alongside a video message, George said: “Hello Joe, it’s George, I hope you’re well, this is just a quick message to say huge thank you to you for having my music play a small part in pe with Joe, it’s just amazing, it goes wihout tsaying that everyitng you’re doing at the moment is amazing, thank you very much and see you soon.”
