George Clooney once declined an offer of 35 million US dollars (around £26.3 million) for just “one day’s work”.

The actor – who is said to be worth roughly $500 million – had a very noble reason for walking away from a lucrative opportunity.

In a new interview, the Ocean’s Eleven star explains why he declined a huge pay cheque from an airline after consulting his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney.

“I was offered 35 million dollars for one day’s work for an airline commercial, but I talked to Amal about it and we decided it’s not worth it,” he revealed to The Guardian.

The confession came about when the actor, 60, was quizzed about his fiances and if he feels he has enough money in the bank after a successful career in Hollywood.

As a well known actor, director and producer, George uses his household name status for good as a committed human rights advocate.
