George Bowie's GBXercise free fitness class returns today

George Bowie will get Scots moving from the comfort of their own homes once again today.

Almost 500,000 tuned in to take part in a GBXercise session with the legendary Scots DJ last week.

The radio host has been bidding to lift spirits amid the coronavirus outbreak, and is teaming up with GBX singer Nona Cabasa to deliver regular fitness classes for fans, to the sounds of his classic Dance Anthems hits.

In the first edition of the 30-minute workout, the pair appeared together at the start of the footage but this week they’re presenting from separate locations to abide by social distancing rules.

Last week George told us he wanted to: “Lift spirits of everyone because we know how demented people are cooped up inside.”

Clyde 1 Breakfast Show host George has also pledged to do his bit by streaming more live gigs on Facebook from his Glasgow west end home.

The star went viral last month when he launched his temporarily new-look (but with the same iconic sounds) GBX show from his pad, with the first of his home gigs being viewed more than 300,000 times.

And as a key worker, he’s promised to stay on the air as the health crisis rages.

He told the Daily Record recently: “I just wanted to lift spirits and bring people together. I’m gutted that in the current situation, we can’t get out to the clubs for the moment, I’ll really miss it, but in the grand scale of things it’s nothing. If people are safe, that’s all that matters, so this is another way of having some fun, which we need.”

Catch GBXercise from 10am on George Bowie’s Facebook page.
