Kimpton Charlotte Square hotel in Edinburgh has appointed Kieran Quinn as its general manager.

The Irishman moves to the boutique venue from Crowne Plaza Edinburgh Royal Terrace where he helped steer the hotel’s renovation and as general manager achieved record revenues for the hotel.

He brings more than 20 years’ experience in hospitality management, having begun his career in as a teenager years in his native Donegal, qualified with distinction from Shannon College of Hotel Management and worked at hotels including the Turnberry Resort, Westin Dublin, Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa Edinburgh, Sheraton Grand London Park Lane and Sandhouse Hotel & Marine Spa in north-western Ireland.

He is joined by newly appointed hotel manager Gordon Shaw at the hotel which has 184 rooms and 15 suites within seven interconnecting Georgian townhouses. Kimpton Charlotte Square is the second UK opening for the brand following the successful opening of Kimpton Fitzroy London  in October 2018.
