General election 2019: How many have registered to vote as deadline now passed?


According to the government’s election registration monitor, more than a quarter of these applications came on the day registration closed.

More than 660,000 people registered on the day of the deadline.

Of these people, the vast majority were young, with 252,000 people in the under 25 age bracket and another 207,000 in the 25-34 bracket.

The remaining 199,904 people were aged 35 to over 75, with the fewest registrations in the eldest 75 and over bracket at 1,134.
