Gene Simmons wants everyone to stop complaining when it comes to being in lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic, because actually, it’s not that hard to just stay at home.

The 70-year-old Kiss star has said that we should ‘all shut up and get over ourselves’ as what we are being asked to do – to stay indoors and not go outside – is pretty simple and there are others risking their lives to keep us safe.

He likened it to our grandparents making the ‘ultimate’ sacrifice to fight in the war, while we can still sit at home eating our burgers and pizza in order to help control the spread of Covid-19.

Governments have enforced strict measures urging people to stay at home and practice social distancing. This means only leaving your house for essentials or once a day to exercise, nothing else.

In the UK, bars, pubs, clubs, restaurants, cafes and gyms have all been closed to encourage people to stay indoors and schools have shut down until further notice.

Speaking to TMZ, Gene said: ‘All of us has a burden, what’s the burden? The burden ain’t much of anything. We should all shut up and get over ourselves, that includes yours truly.

‘Not too long ago our grandparents where asked to go and fight overseas in a war they had nothing to do with and 50million resulted in death in World War II. And your grandparents gave the ultimate sacrifice.

He continued: ‘What are we complaining about? We get to stay at home while people are out there risking their lives to make our lives more comfortable.

‘This will get better, I promise you, take my word for it… just take it easy, respect your neighbour… you don’t want to get somebody sick and perhaps die and you don’t want to get sick and perhaps die.’

Gene’s not wrong.

It’s been reported that the US is expected to suffer a coronavirus peak this month, which will see as many as 2,614 deaths in one day by 16 April.

There have currently been over 10,000 deaths due to coronavirus across America, including country singer John Prine who died from Covid-19 complications aged 73 on Tuesday.

In the UK, there are over 55,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus and the number of deaths has risen to 6,227.
