Gen.G Esports, Riot Games, and More Line Up to Support Children’s Hospital of Orange County’s ‘Gamers for CHOC’

A coalition of employees from several gaming companies and esports organizations have once again teamed up with the Children’s Hospital of Orange County to support “Gamers for CHOC.”

Those taking part in the effort this year include Amazon Game Studios, Cresa, Dreamhaven, Esports Arena, ESTsoft Inc., Frost Giant Studios, Gen.G Esports, Healthy Gamer, Humble Bundle, Improbable, Intellivision, inXile entertainment, Obsidian Entertainment, Pragma, Rally Cry, Riot Games, Second Dinner, Square Enix, TiMi Studios, and UCI Esports.

The goal of Gamers for CHOC is to rally members and their communities to support health care programs, support and promote education, and help raise funds for research to help sick children in Southern California who rely on the services of the Children’s Hospital. The Children’s Hospital of Orange County says that it serves “more than 250,000 children and families each year.”

The hospital’s current charitable effort is the “Virtual CHOC Walk,” a replacement for the annual CHOC Walk presented by Disneyland Resort, which would have been a 5k walk if not for the COVID-19 pandemic. Fans can participate by sponsoring teams with donations and joining them to take on challenges, or creating their own teams. So far, roughly $55K USD has been raised, with a benchmark goal of $125K by the end of March. Participating companies and organizations are also providing a variety of unique incentives.
