Gemma Collins wants to look like Jennifer Lopez at 50

She’s been working hard to get into shape and slim down over the past year.

And Gemma Collins discussed how she achieved her impressive three-stone weight loss in her latest interview with New! magazine on Tuesday, confessing her goal is to emulate super fit and age-defying Jennifer Lopez, 50.

In order to achieve her dream figure, The GC has cut down on fast food and sweet treats, but still treats herself to the occasional burger and has chocolate once a week.

She told the magazine: ‘I’m very careful with the food we get in on photoshoots now and instead of grabbing a McDonald’s for breakfast, I’ll pick a healthier option.

‘I look at someone like J.Lo and think, “I’m going to be like that when I’m 50.”‘

Gemma says she’s been walking as much as possible, as well as never eating too late in the day in order to give her body time to digest her food properly.

The reality TV star, who is set to return to our screens this Wednesday in her new ITV2 series Diva Forever, also claimed she could see herself moving to Los Angeles.

Asked whether she would like to copy her former TOWIE co-star Mark Wright and live in the US, Gemma enthused: ‘There are Chinese massage parlours on the corner of everyt street, which i loved.

‘They speak the lingo and they are very much about connections, connections and connections. It’s the land of opportunity out there.’

Gemma’s diet secrets come amid claims she has reportedly signed a deal to host her own regular podcast on BBC Sounds.

She previously threatened to sue the corporation after falling through the stage at the Radio 1 Teen Awards in 2017.

A source told The Sun: ‘Gemma is absolutely over the moon to have done this deal with the BBC. It will be a regular podcast, available through the BBC Sounds app, which they are hoping will be a massive draw for her millions of young fans.

‘It will launch in a fortnight, when listeners will be able to listen to hear Gemma talking about all sorts of things to do with her crazy life.

‘She is such a huge character and the Beeb is really excited she has signed up. Gemma knows what a huge deal it is to have got her foot in the door with the BBC so she is really investing in the podcast.’

MailOnline contacted Gemma’s representatives and the BBC for comment.

Gemma’s beef with the BBC goes back to the legendary moment she collapsed through a trap door in the stage at Radio 1’s annual awards show, when she was presenting a gong to reality series Love Island.

Beef: The news also comes after the 38-year-old threatened to sue the corporation after falling through the stage at the Radio 1 Teen Awards in 2017

Prophecy: In 2017, Gemma claimed that she could ‘bring a new audience to the BBC’ [pictured at the infamous Teen Awards of 2017]

Jamie Jewitt, Amber Davies and Marcel Somerville – contestants from the previous season – were heading onto the stage to collect the award, with the stage opening up next to Gemma to make way from them.

She twirled around and fell through the hole, helped up by Jamie and Marcel and bravely carrying on with her duties in front of the 12,500 concert goers, insisting she was unhurt.

She called out to packed out crowd: ‘Oh my God. Guys sorry about that. This is live, this is what happens.’

Legal action: In 2017, she suggested that she might sue the BBC for the furor but hinted that, if they signed her up for Strictly Come Dancing, she’d reconsider

However, Gemma did acknowledge how lucky she had been as her injuries could have been much more severe when she appeared on This Morning after the incident.

‘It could have been fatal,’ she revealed. ‘Under there there’s so much machinery going on.’

She suggested that she might sue the BBC for the furor but hinted that, if they signed her up for Strictly Come Dancing, she’d reconsider.

This prompted a scathing reaction from judge Craig Revel Horwood, who said in response: ‘Gemma Collins would be fun on the show but it’s not very often that we have reality stars take to the ballroom. We generally have people of a higher calibre than that.’

Gemma hit back at this dig, saying: ‘I’m not low rent, Craig. We’ve all got to start somewhere and it’s a shame to just knock someone out of giving them a chance because they don’t think I’m high calibre enough.

‘I’m sorry I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth but I get 2.2million hits on my social media. Where did he start?

‘He was just a dancer and I was just a girl from Romford once. I’m not being funny, a couple more years who knows? I could be sitting drinking tea with Madonna!

‘If anything, I’d probably bring a different audience to the BBC.’

And it seems, The GC is doing just that.

The news of her podcast comes as Gemma’s latest reality series – Diva Forever – prepares to debut on ITVBe. The show follows her day-to-day life and begins on August 7.

She has been busy filming the fly-on-the-wall over the past few months, after her stint on Dancing On Ice at the beginning of the year.

Gemma’s other ventures include her eponymous boutique in Essex, a pop-up version in Marbella, and a collaboration with clothing brand BooHoo.

She has an autobiography under her belt, along with a ever-growing list of guest appearances on TV – including Celebrity Big Brother, Sugar Free Farm, Celebrity MasterChef and her infamous two-day stay in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle.
