Gemma Atkinson breaks silence on Steph's Packed Lunch absence 'It's hard at the minute'

Gemma Atkinson, 36, announced she would be joining Steph McGovern on her lunchtime show Steph’s Packed Lunch back in September. Amid the success of the show, Gemma has since opened up on her busy work schedule as she has been balancing presenting on Packed Lunch as well as on Hits Radio alongside her co-host Wes Butters.

While doing a Q&A on her Instagram Stories with her 1.6 million followers today, one fan asked: “Will you be on Packed Lunch again?”

Gemma went on to talk of how due to the coronavirus pandemic, it is difficult as she juggles work commitments.

She explained: “Possibly… It’s hard at the minute with covid.

Gemma continued: “I go straight into my radio studio after which isn’t really fair to @wesbutters I mean he annoys me, but I don’t want him getting sick.”

A third echoed: “Fab well-done look forward to it.”

However, as Gemma joined the show, she also opened up on the mum-guilt she felt as she had to leave her one-year-old daughter Mia behind at home.

Gemma welcomed her daughter Mia with Strictly pro Gorka Marquez in 2019, with Mia celebrating her birthday in July of last year.

Amid her role on Packed Lunch Gemma admitted she felt “torn” as she spoke of balancing her career and being a mum.
