According to Twitter users who attended last night’s Here Come The Boys show in Nottingham, Gemma Atkinson‘s beau Gorka Marquez, 28, was absent from the line-up, leaving his co-stars Aljaz Skorjanec, 29, and Giovanni Pernice, 28, to perform alongside backing dancer Kai Widdrington, 23, instead. One tweeted: “So Gorka can’t dance for unforeseen circumstances tonight, reckon Gemma’s in labour?” Another came to the same conclusion, saying: “So apparently Gorka isn’t at Here Come The Boys tonight unforeseen circumstances. That could mean Gemma is in labour.” A third snapped selfies with the three main dancers that night, Aljaz, Giovanni and Kai, while a fourth shared a photo of the trio taking their bow at the end of the show.
Meanwhile, Gemma fell silent on social media.
The former Emmerdale actress, 34, usually posts on Instagram every day and has been keeping her one million followers updated with regular glimpses at her pregnancy journey since the couple announced they were expecting their first child together earlier this year.
For almost around 24 hours, the pregnant star was quiet on Instagram, which, combined with Gorka’s absence, prompted fans to ask her whether she had given birth to the baby.
Commenting on her recent posts, one questioned: “You have gone quiet, has baby arrived?”
“Have you had the baby?” another wrote, as a third chimed in: “I’ve a feeling a small baby may have arrived as you’ve gone quiet.”
However, in the midst of speculation, Gemma returned to the social media platform.
Having previously given a platform to a family whose dog had apparently been stolen from their home, she took to Instagram to share the good news the pooch had been found and returned.
Yesterday, Gemma Atkinson hit out at the thief on Instagram, saying: “You have ruined a family.”
It came after a man, Samuel Hammond, said his family’s dog Bobby had been taken from their home in Whitefield.
Although she was once again active on Instagram this evening, she didn’t post any pictures of herself.
Instead, she simply re-posted a message from Samuel alongside a picture of his family reunited with Bobby.
Bobby is home!” he gushed. “Thank you so so much to everyone who has shared lists, given advice and helped us get her back.”
Gorka has also been silent on Instagram in the past 24 hours.
Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Gorka and Gemma asking for comment.
Gemma and Gorka first met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017.
Despite the fact they weren’t paired up on the show, they were soon subject to romance rumours, although they maintained they only struck up a relationship months later.
In February, the couple announced they were pregnant with their first baby.
