Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez have not only released the first images of their newborn daughter, but they’ve released her name – Mia Louise.
The new parents proudly showed off their bundle of joy, who was born 4 July, and our hearts are melting at the sight.
In images released on Tuesday, Mia can be seen all bundled up in her crib. She’s got the cutest little pink jumper on as she sleeps soundly.
Her name is a tribute to Gemma, as mother and daughter share the same middle name.
Mia arrived on Thursday 4 July, with Gorka paying special tribute to his partner, whom he met on Strictly Come Dancing.
The new parents had chosen to keep images and her name under wraps, as they settled into life with their new bundle of joy. However now ready to share it with the world, we couldn’t be more blessed.
Gorka revealed Gemma had given birth earlier this month in a sweet post to Instagram.
‘Our beautiful baby daughter arrived on Thursday 4th July and myself and Gem couldn’t be happier,’ he said.
‘She’s incredible and she certainly made an entrance, giving us all quite a fright at times. @glouiseatkinson my absolute HERO!
‘After seeing you go through all you did to bring our little girl to life has made me love and respect you even more. What a trooper you are. I couldn’t be more proud of you!!’
He added: ‘Thank you SO much to the nurses & doctors at The Royal Bolton Hospital who did the most incredible job taking care of gem and our baby.
‘Back home now for family time.’
Gemma herself wasted no time in sharing the sweet news with her followers, who had been hanging out for word of when she might give birth.
‘And just like that, we’re a three! Our beautiful baby daughter arrived on Thursday 4th July and myself and Gorks couldn’t be happier,’ Gemma wrote.
‘She’s incredible and she certainly made an entrance, giving us all quite a fright at times! Little Miss independent already!
‘Thank you SO much to the nurses & doctors at The Royal Bolton Hospital who did the most incredible job taking care of myself and my baby. You’re all so wonderful and I’m so grateful to have had you all with me and to have been under your care these past 4 days.
‘Back home now for family time and to introduce little lady to her big brothers Norman & Ollie…. Let the next life chapter begin @gorka_marquez.’
Last week Gemma said she was slowly getting used to motherhood, as she opened up on adjusting to this new chapter in her life.
Taking a break from all the nappies that are no doubt mounting, Gemma wrote in an Instagram Story: ‘Thank you all for your lovely messages. Our daughter is so wonderful.
‘I’m slowly getting to grips with motherhood, learning loads and I’m loving being in this little cocoon with her.
‘I feel extremely lucky to be on this journey with mine and Gorks little human.’
