Noel Fielding is expecting his second child with partner Lliana Bird.
The Great British Bake Off host is currently filming the latest series of the Channel 4 show, after it was delayed due to lockdown – but it turns out he also has a bun in the oven at home.
Lliana, 38, revealed to her Instagram followers this week that not only is she pregnant, but she’s pretty near her due date, as she is about to go on her maternity leave.
Sharing an IGTV video for her ‘Lazy Mum Recipe’ series, in which she taught followers how to make banana and spinach pancakes, Lliana wrote: ‘I’ve actually been baking a little something myself this lockdown so i’m starting my mat leave from @radiox this week, and whilst i’ll keep on posting my lazy mum recipes for you all here on insta, im also delighted that the bad ass lady that is @pollyjames will be keeping my show seat warm in the coming months on the #SundayChill.
‘Wishing her love and luck and please show her lots of support. Meanwhile i’ll keep posting lazy mum recipes and videos as often as i can on here so see you soon! ??? #lazymumrecipes #babyfoodrecipes #radiox #bunsintheoven.’
The radio presenter – affectionately referred to by Noel as Birdy – showed off her prominent bump in a cute polka dot playsuit, revealing she hasn’t got all that long to go.
And in a selfie shared to Instagram, Lliana dressed in a striking black and white polka dot dress, captioning it: ‘moooooooo.’
Noel, 48, and Lliana became parents back in early 2018 when they welcomed daughter Dali, and the Mighty Boosh star seemed in awe of his baby girl.
He said back in 2018 on The Jonathan Ross Show: ‘She is very beautiful and she blows my mind about a hundred times a day.
‘It’s a new level of tiredness that I’ve never experienced. I’ve done a lot of all-nighters in my life. In a way I’ve been in training for this moment all my life.’
And Lliana praised her boyfriend’s parenting skills on Father’s Day, writing on Instagram: ‘Just gotta give the biggest dads day shout out to this one too because my lord, you are the most incredible “dada” to our little pup.
‘Watching you two be the very very best of friends and just have the most fun and dance every day and generally be in love has been the greatest joy of my life.’
The couple – who have been together since 2010, and live in Highgate, North London – have kept their daughter out of the spotlight, and do not share pictures of her on social media.
Lliana kept her first pregnancy pretty low-key too, only mentioning she was pregnant on social media when she was nearly eight months gone.
It’ll be a busy few months for Noel, then, as he pairs welcoming his newest bundle of joy with his other baby – Bake Off.
This series, his partner in crime Sandi Toksvig will be replaced by Matt Lucas, with judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith back to critique the UK’s best amateur bakers’ wares.
It is believed that the cast and crew have been living in an isolation bubble to ensure that shooting can go ahead in the safest way possible.
