Gavin and Stacey: James Corden shares first look at special as MAJOR missing character

Gavin and Stacey is set to return for a one-off special at Christmas with all of the cast returning.

Today, James Corden has shared a sweet snap from rehearsals and it seems the gang is well and truly back together.

However, there’s one character not there, and fans will be devastated if it confirms his absence for good.

Rob Brydon, who plays Bryn, cannot be seen in the image, but that isn’t to say he isn’t slightly out of frame.

James shared a snap on his Twitter account to his 10.5million followers and the black and white image revealed the major players were at a table read.

At the head of the table, Larry Lamb, who plays Mick, could be seen chatting.

Next to him, his on-screen wife Alison Steadman, who stars as Pam is making notes.

Ruth Jones (Nessa), Joanna Page (Stacey) and Matthew Horne (Gavin), complete one side of the table.

The back of Melanie Walters, who plays Gwen, is closest to the camera.

There are three empty seats and the final cast member who is on show is Jason star, Robert Wilfort.

A couple of figures can be seen towards the left-hand side of the picture, but their identities are currently unknown.

“We’re so excited to get the chance to work with our fabulous cast and crew once more and to give fans of the show a festive treat this Christmas.

“Thank you BBC for helping to make this happen.”

Director of BBC content, Charlotte Moore added: “Everyone at the BBC is hugely excited to be welcoming back Gavin and Stacey to BBC One this Christmas.

“We can’t wait to see what’s happened to everyone over the last nine years, and what’s next for one of the nation’s favourite comedy families.”

Gavin and Stacey will return this Christmas on BBC One.
