Gary Neville has included Marcus Rashford, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs in his Manchester United team of the decade but there’s no room for Paul Pogba or Nani.

Neville, who retired in February 2011, selected Scholes and Giggs in his midfield despite both players retiring towards the start of the decade.

‘Paul Scholes is my favourite United player ever, Ryan Giggs is the most-decorated and Michael Carrick was an unsung hero for many years that kept everyone else ticking over,’ Neville told Sky Sports.

‘Those three are shoo-ins because of their roles in the title wins at the start of the decade.’

And that meant Pogba, who has won the EFL Cup and the Europa League since returning to Old Trafford, missed out on a place.

Neville also favoured Rashford on the right flank instead of Nani, who won two Premier League titles with United this decade.

‘On the right I have gone for Marcus Rashford because he is the one player in the last four to five years that has come in and looks like he could play in any Manchester United team over the past 25 years,’ said Neville.

In defence, Neville opted for a centre-back pairing of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, with Antonio Valencia at right-back and Patrice Evra on the opposite flank.

Up front, Wayne Rooney partners Robin van Persie, while David De Gea is selected in goal.
