Gary Lineker: 'I don't care' Star talks dinner dates with ex Danielle and marrying again

Match of the Day host Gary Lineker, 58, said he still meets up with his ex-wife Danielle Bux, 40, for dinner, but insisted her partner Nate Greenwald is not jealous.

“He’s not got a jealous bone in his body,” Gary told Radio Times. “We get on really well. We go out for dinner when I’m in LA.

“It might be unusual and people might go, ‘That’s weird’ but, frankly, I don’t care. What is normal?

“Is it better to get divorced and end up fighting, screaming and shouting? Or is it better to get on if you can?

“Things change in your life and you just go with it.”

Gary and Danielle are believed to have split because she wanted a baby and he didn’t, it was reported at the time.

The presenter already has four children with his first wife Michelle Cockayne.

Following their split, Danielle now has a two-year-old daughter with her partner Nate.

Nowadays, Gary said he prefers cooking a meal for one and being “unanswerable” to anyone.

Speaking to Radio Times, he went on to say he doesn’t see a third wife in his future as he described marriage as “pointless”.

The former footballer added: “It’s just a contract and it’s so easy to get married and so difficult to get unmarried.”

Earlier this year, Gary was spotted enjoying a private joke with chef Gizzi Erskine at All Points East festival.

A source told The Mirror at the time: “Gary was there with his mates but seemed to only have eyes for Gizzi.

“They were getting on like a house on fire and having a right laugh. They watched a lot of the acts.”

But, a representative for Gary and Gizzi insisted the pair were no more than friends.

Back in 2017, Gary and Danielle were pictured on several outings in LA while Danielle was pregnant.

At the time, a source told The Mirror: “He’s just on holiday. He’ll be back when he returns for work on Match of the Day.

“Gary and Danielle kept their split civil from the very start, and have always been adamant they’d remain close friends.

“Over the past few months they’ve constantly been together – almost like family again.

“But Danielle is still 100% with Nate, it’s all good between them and they’re looking forward to welcoming their baby together.”
