Games Inbox: Favourite Marvel video game, Mortal Kombat 11 boycott, and Hidetaka Miyazaki’s next game

Just saw Avengers: Endgame, which I thought was fantastic, and, being a gamer, it immediately made me want to play some related games when I got home and… oh, there aren’t any. Not a single decent (or even not bad) Iron Man, Captain America, or Thor game and no other good games featuring all the Avengers or any individuals except Spider-Man, and even that game isn’t based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I know this isn’t new news but it is crazy when you think about it. All that money left on the table and still no real end in sight. And even if they do suddenly start making them they’ve completely missed the boat on the whole Thanos arc now.

As far as I see it the only choices, other than Spider-Man, are the Lego games and Marvel Vs. Capcom. The Lego games are fine, up to a point, but obviously limited. Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite was obviously a bit of a disappointment but I do think 2 and 3 were really good. Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 would probably be my pick as the best Marvel game then, but curious to know what other people think.

GC: The Captain America game from 2011 is not too awful, in a second-rate Batman: Arkham Asylum kind of a way.
