Speedrunning charity marathon organization Games Done Quick will host Fleet Fatales, an online event organized by its all-women speedrunning community Frame Fatales. The event will showcase women speedrunners while raising money for the Malala Fund – a non-profit co-founded by Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai. All proceeds will go directly to the fund.
Frame Fatales was launched in May 2019 in an effort to put a greater spotlight on women within the speedrunning community. The group hosted its first charity drive, Frost Fatales, this February which raised over $54K for the Malala Fund.
Games Done Quick has organized various charity speedrunning events since 2010 including its popular annual series Awesome Games Done Quick and Summer Games Done Quick which routinely top the Twitch charts during their run. To date, the organization has raised over $28M USD for charities like Doctors Without Borders, Prevent Cancer Foundation, and the Organization for Autism Research.
