Today, AI-powered esports tournament platform developer Game.tv announced that it has raised a $25M investment round led by Intel Capital. Additionally, the company announced the launch of its platform, Tourney, via Discord and tournament web app.

According to Game.tv, the proceeds of the financing round will be used to grow its mobile gaming communities through sponsorships and additional plugins, and scale the development of its core product, Tourney.

Tourney offers communities, streamers, and content creators the possibility to create community tournaments via Discord, Twitter, or Facebook. The developer explains that “the AI learns about the community and adapts to it“ to enhance the player’s experience.

Game.tv was founded in 2018 and is led by CEO Rosen Sharma, who also serves as president and CEO for cross-platform virtualization developer BlueStacks since 2011. In March 2013, BlueStacks, led by Sharma, raised an investment from Intel Capital (the amount was not disclosed).

“When Game.tv’s platform crossed 10,000 tournaments in a short period of time, we sensed something big was going on here. As one of the biggest supporters of both esports and emerging technologies, Intel is always looking for ways to accelerate adoption of esports,” said Arun Chetty, managing director at Intel Capital, in a release. “We believe in Game.tv’s unique vision and technology. With this funding, they should be able to own a big piece of the esports market.”

Yesterday, Australian esports tournament platform developer Mogul announced that it had raised a $3.97M AUD ($2.71M) investment led by CPS Capital via a share placement.
