The Game of Thrones episode saw Jaime Lannister (played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) meet Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) for the first time since the first ever episode of the HBO series.
In that episode, he pushed Bran off a wall and paralysing him after he witnessed intimate scenes between Jaime and sister Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey).
Now, after seasons of speculating if they would meet again, fans saw a remorseful Jaime question Bran on whether he would reveal it was him that paralysed him all those years ago.
In the scene, Bran may have teased Jaime’s demise. Jaime asks him whether he will tell everyone it was him after the battle is over.
Bran replies: “How do you know there is an afterwards?”
As the Three-Eyed Raven, can Bran see into the future and see Jaime’s death at the hands of the White Walkers?
Or could he die after Cersei ordered Bronn (Jerome Flynn) to kill him for deserting her to head North to Winterfell?
The finale of episode one teased a showdown between Jaime and Bran after they locked eyes straight away when Jaime arrived in Winterfell.
Fans speculated on what Bran will do after seeing Jaime for the first time since season one.
He could reveal to everyone it was Jaime that paralysed him all those years ago, he could seek revenge or he could decide to welcome Jaime into the fight against the White Walkers.
Star Nikolaj recently revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly he could seek revenge on Jaime: “First of all, I don’t think wheelchairs are a normal thing in Westeros. I think it’s like: ‘What the hell?’ and then, ‘Oh my god, that’s the kid.’
“I think he knows Bran didn’t die, but he doesn’t expect to meet him.
“His mission changes once again. It goes from: ‘I know my brother Tyrion is there and I’m going to fight the good fight’ to ‘I’m in deep s**t now.’ Because this is the Lord of Winterfell that I tried to kill and I’m sure he wants revenge. That’s what Jaime expects.”
Bran brushed off Jaime’s apology in the episode and seemed to be at peace with Jaime’s presence in Winterfell, but could it all be a rouse?
Perhaps he knows that Jaime will die soon anyway and sees no reason to get angry with someone who has limited days left in Westeros?
