‘Game Of Thrones’: season 8 deleted scene sees Sansa and Tyrion do battle in Winterfell

A newly unearthed deleted scene from season 8 of Game of Thrones adds more context to Sansa and Tyrion’s roles in the Battle of Winterfell.

Ahead of the release of the complete Game of Thrones series on DVD next month (December 2), more unseen footage is being revealed.

The latest deleted scene is from season 8 episode 3 when the Battle of Winterfell rages. It sees Sansa Stark and Tyrion Lannister – who spent most of the episode hiding in the crypt rather than being involved in the battle – helping out as Missandei, Gilly and baby Sam are cornered by two wights.

In an unseen piece of action from the episode, Sansa and Tyrion stab the wights to death with Arya’s dragonglass dagger. Watch the deleted scene here.

The scene is the latest in a long line of extra looks at the final season of Game of Thrones.

Recently, a newly unearthed cut revealed the ‘real’ reason for Daenerys’ notorious rampage in the show’s finale, while another deleted scene from the show’s season 7 finale has explained a huge lingering plothole.

Game of Thrones star Dean-Charles Chapman (Tommen Baratheon) recently suggested the release of a filmed alternate ending to the show could “mend the fans’ hearts” after Kristofer Hivju’s revelation recently that they had shot a second ending to the series.

Game Of Thrones: The Complete Collection is available now.
